Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Diagnostic Medical Sonography prepares students to use ultrasound technology to obtain diagnostic images for physician interpretation. Students develop skills in anatomy, physiology, pathology, and ultrasound physics. Graduates are eligible for ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification. The clinical portion spans five semesters (20 months) with two six-month hands-on placements. Delta offers three tracks: an Associate in Applied Science (8 semesters, 90 credits), an Advanced Certificate for those with an existing allied health associate degree (7 semesters, 75 credits), and a Dual Degree with General Management (10 semesters, 114 credits). Accredited by CAAHEP upon JRCDMS recommendation.

  • Option A: Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Program meeting program prerequisites through transfer or waiver; completion of PHY 101 or PHY 111 with B (3.0) or better if required
